The RPS - Roving Position Sensor is designed for detecting roving diameter and position.

The RPS-G is an optical sensor designed to measure the vertical position of a thread or roving placed in a working area of 28 high, 30 mm wide.

The sensor is controlled by a microprocessor which elaborates the signal coming out from the photodetector and outputs an average value over a large period of time.

This make the sensor suitable to measure the average position of the element even when it is oscillating or vibrating, what is usual for a thread moving through the sensor.
